Without Reservations, the bike ministry of Calvin Church in Zelienople, is a recent recipient of the Innovations Grant of the Synod of the Trinity.
Without Reservations sought funds for the construction of a bicycle repair shop on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. Since 2017, this growing ministry of Calvin Church has been delivering donated and restored bicycles to the town of Wanblee. More recently, in order to meet the need of keeping bicycles in good repair, the mission has also addressed the need for trained residents in repair and a shop where they can work.
Construction on the shop began last summer and with the Synod grant of $5500, the project is fully funded and completion of the shop is now possible. Wiring and bringing electricity to the shop are slated for this summer’s trip coinciding with a bicycle distribution day on June 15.
Calvin Church is grateful for the financial support they are receiving for this growing mission and for your prayers for Without Reservations and the Lakota people of Pine Ridge Reservation.
