We are a connectional church; we do not stand alone in our worshipping, our mission, and our responsibilities to the Church at large. Every Presbyterian shares in the benefit of the PC(USA) system of governing which has expenses associated with coordinating and performing the functions of that system. Congregations, presbyteries (Beaver-Butler), synods (Synod of the Trinity), denominational offices (General Assembly), and more work together to offer support, guidance, collaboration and other opportunities through per capita funding. All of us are called to share in the building of a beloved community of believers.
If you feel God calling you to cover the per capita cost for your family, it will help the church offset our assessment. That is, Calvin pays for every member whether they pay or not. That would be:
$45.24 for a single family member
$90.48 for a two-member family
$135.72 for a three- member family
$180.96 for a four-member family Etc.
